I have taken a break from blogging and I will be back to edit this and add some thoughts on my updated prospective.

  1. Michelle, this is one year later now, and I have never met you but I want to say how proud I am of your incredible strength and honesty in this experience. Your experience has definitely taught me something too.

  2. Jenny,
You're so sweet. Thank you so much for your comment. Are you an exchange student?

It was a battle. And it's a battle to write the end. I will get to it. Just when I'm ready.

But when I say battle, let me also say, it was also a battle that was worth it.

I'm really happy with your response. I've done with this blog what I wanted to do.

  3. Hello Michelle. Are you an exchange student to Taiwan? My name is William, and I am from Kaohsiung. I would like to know how to meet foreigners in Kaohsiung because I want to improve my English. Maybe you knows some of your friends whom are interesting in learning Chinese and are in Kaohsiung? Can you introduce for me please? In return I can teach them Chinese or whatever they want. Thank you!

  4. I will go and see if I know any students in your area! I still have a network over in Taiwan!

I wish I had known you while I was in Taiwan!!! I would have spent tons of time with you! XD

  5. Dear Michelle:
    THX for your reply!
It's a pity that you have leaved Taiwan already, otherwise I can take you around of my hometown Kaohsiung. I have plenty of time before (because I am seeking for jobs).
Now I am a research assistant in Sun Yat-Sen University(中山大學),which is located in Kaohsiung.
Because I want to study abroad and being stuck in English ability test(TOEFL and GRE), I really want to know someone who is an native English speaker, thus I can practice to improve oral part.
Thank you anyway, I appreciate of your help!

  6. I hope it is not a bother for you to answer me, but did you ended up being sent back home?
I am going to be an exchange student beginning August 26th :P so I would really for you to tell me (for a fact) the ending to your exchange. But if you do not feel comfortable saying it, is okay ^^ Thanks for your blog it was very expressive and real :D

  7. Hello there, just became alert to your blog through Google,
and found that it's truly informative. I'm gonna watch out for brussels.

  8. Hello Michelle :)
Some time ago I started to read your blog and I found it awesome! I'll spend one year in Taiwan too and I am so much looking forward to it. Thank you for not only writing about positive experiences, it is so helpful!
It is such a pity, that you didn't continue blogging, but it has its reasons, I guess :D

  9. So, I will be taking a hopefully short break from blogging. Take a wild guess why.

  10. I have read your blog a few times and wondered what happened on your return with Rotary. I know someone who had a similar experience with Rotary. They turn a blind eye to break the D's however if you are unhappy or complain about Rotary's treatment they label you as not being a good ambassador and send you home.
